Michel Vanden Eeckhoudt belongs to that category of poet-photographers that pushes the art of immediate montage very far, demanding mobility, intuition and rapidity. There is no one less formal, less abstract than this deep and discreet photographer, less conceptual than these arrangements which are enchanting becquse of their deep sense of anguish quickly corrected by humor. Michel Vanden Eeckhoudt chose to approach the world in the daily strangeness of droll apparitions without derision, tragic with without solemnity, a happiness to be there, a complicity with the moment where the absent real becomes surreal. The quality of people and things exchange and permutate ; it ‘s the stone that trembles and the person who is immobilised. It is animals who watch and people who dream. On the walls are drawings, forms ; stains taking shape, undulating waves, reflections, heads in mirrors, open hands, hidden shadows, windows, wind, light.
